Virtual assistant case study: helping Sam Godfrey jazz up her newsletters

Meet Sam, a fun-loving Nordic walking and fitness instructor based in Cambridgeshire. I’ve been working with Sam since June 2020 when she was looking for help to jazz up her Mailchimp newsletter and publish it regularly to keep her clients updated with the ever-changing restrictions that coronavirus brought with it. If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I'm a Certified Mailchimp Partner and I LOVE creating beautiful brand-aligned newsletters for my clients, so I was very happy to work with Sam.

"Emma is an absolute star! Emma’s thorough and super organised! Her thoughtful, responsive and creative approach has made a huge difference to my business! Thank you Emma"

~ Sam Godfrey

I was thrilled when Sam agreed to feature on my blog and hope you enjoy reading her interview...

Hi Sam, please introduce yourself

I'm a Nordic walking instructor, NLP practitioner and all-round fitness professional. I am hugely passionate about bringing exercise and the outdoors to people and helping them to improve their health and wellness.

What challenges did you face before you started working with me?

I found trying to complete a monthly newsletter for my business was becoming more and more challenging and taking a lot of my time.

Did you try to resolve this challenge prior to working with me? If so, what happened?

I did, by reducing the number of newsletters I was sending, but I found this was frustrating as I wanted the newsletter to be consistent.

What made you decide to work with a VA rather than employ someone?

My decision to work with a VA rather than employ someone was so that I had flexibility. As a small business, that is super important to me.

What was the most important consideration when choosing the right VA to work with?

When choosing the right VA it was all about finding someone that I could trust, who had a caring and approachable manner and attention to detail.

What difference has working with me made to your business?

Working with you has been a game-changer for me! Not only have you taken the pressure off by assisting with my newsletter, but you have also helped me become more organised in the way I run my business. Your attention to detail, suggestions and ideas have been amazing!

What three words best describe your experience of working with me?

  1. Organised

  2. Thoughtful

  3. Thorough

What would you say to someone thinking about working with me?

I highly recommend working with Emma, her kind and thoughtful nature and attention to detail, and broad knowledge base shine through in all her work.

Anything else you’d like to add?

My business has gone from strength to strength since working with you. I'm so glad I found you! Thank you, Emma.
